What we make

Franklin makes handheld electronic reference devices. The line today centers on talking bilingual dictionaries, English dictionaries with thesaurus, electronic Bibles, and spelling correctors. Forty-five years on, the form factor is still a physical keyboard, a small screen, and a battery that lasts.

The company has shipped more than fifteen million reference devices through forty-five thousand retail outlets worldwide. The flagship product, the Spelling Ace, has been continuously in production since 1986.
